![]() ![]() The hard way, which everyone should do once, is to follow your distribution's system administration documentation and rebuild the GRUB2 installation. (I use fedora so my linux partition has fedora in the name.) If you simply reset the boot order screen to have the Linux partition boot first, GRUB2 menus and so forth should be restored. ![]() I have found when Windows update and maybe a BIOS update is installed, Windows resets the boot order to the Windows ONLY scenario.Īfter my dual boot installation the Boot Order screen within BIOS has entries for Windows Partition to boot and Linux partition to boot. When a dual boot scenario is installed, the Windows installation is left unmodified, and a new boot loader breaks the rules of Windows and is inserted into the booting sequence between BIOS and the Windows boot loader. When Windows is the only operating system upon a system, the Windows boot loader is activated during initial start up. This is probably a technically incorrect explanation of the problem: ![]()
